About the Project

Flat Fork Energy Center is a solar and battery energy storage project proposed for St. Francis, Lee and Monroe counties, Arkansas, with battery storage infrastructure planned in St. Francis County. The battery energy storage has a planned capacity to store up to 200 megawatts of energy.

The project represents a significant investment in Arkansas’ future - creating good-paying jobs and generating millions of dollars in new revenue for the community, pending all necessary permits and approvals. 

The Flat Fork Energy Storage builds on the existing Flat Fork Solar project, adding new energy storage infrastructure within the same established project site. 

Flat Fork Solar, LLC and Flat Fork Energy Storage, LLC are indirect wholly owned subsidiaries of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, America’s largest builder of energy infrastructure. NextEra Energy Resources leverages all forms of energy across renewables, battery energy storage systems, natural gas, nuclear and other critical energy infrastructure.
