About the Project

Chugwater Energy Project is is an innovative wind, solar and battery storage project proposed for Platte County, Wyoming. Chugwater Wind will have a planned capacity of up to 300 megawatts of American-made wind energy. Chugwater Energy Center will have a capacity of up to 150 megawatts of solar energy, combined with 150 megawatts of battery energy storage. This project represents a significant investment in Wyoming’s future—creating good-paying jobs and generating millions of dollars in new revenue for the community, pending all necessary permits and approvals.

Chugwater Wind and Chugwater Energy Project are subsidiaries of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, America’s largest builder of energy infrastructure. NextEra Energy Resources leverages all forms of energy across renewables, battery energy storage systems, natural gas, nuclear and other critical energy infrastructure. The company is advancing America’s energy future with the largest and most diverse portfolio of power generation and infrastructure solutions.
